I started my architectural CAD career when the first CAD programs were being developed for the fledgling IBM PC back in ’83-84.  Some of my first work was as a ‘test pilot’ for CAD development at the Hulbert Group in Vancouver, Canada, (architects for the Sanctuary Cove development on the Gold Coast).  That gave me the opportunity to return to Australia permanently in 1987 as their Computer Operations Manager.  Previous stays in the early ’70’s & ‘80‘s had easily convinced me that I wouldn’t miss the Canadian winters or Vancouver’s rain!


cMacd consulting and design was created in Sydney in 1990, when I decided to become an independent consultant as the ArchiCAD sales representative and the support resource for the whole of Australia working with the then distributor, Smart Technologies. My work has evolved into architectural services for homeowners, architects, builders and developers.


I specialise in design and 3D modelling of buildings from single family residences to city skyscrapers and retail spaces as well as training and assisting new ArchiCAD users in the use of this specialised architectural program.  The 3D model presents many advantages over conventional 2D drafting and illustrations.  As with a real building, the model can be examined from all angles; perspectives or axonometric views can be quickly generated at any time in the design, colours and finishes applied; and much of the documentation generated automatically.
